  Clefairy's character is based widely on the urban legend that Gengar is a Clefairy's shadow, alter ego, or "dead" self.
  It has been rumored for years that when a Clefairy loses her soul, dies, or turns to a "shadow" (that's Gengar's 'type' in the Pokedex), she reverts to Gengar for eternity, a shadow of her former self.

  This is why her character is the way she is. I always was incredibly fascinated by the legend.
  Clefairy (my character) carries an Everstone with her at all times. In the franchise, Everstones are to prevent evolution - here, it's basically the same, but instead of preventing evolution it prevents her deterioration into the sadistic, evil dark side she hides. She clings to this Everstone like a lifeline so people don't have to experience her "shadow".
  
  
  I felt obligated to explain this because many people don't know the legend of the connection between Clefairy and Gengar, and I wanted to explain it so people could understand and enjoy Clefairy's dynamic personality better.

• General Description

  Smug to a fault, but generous enough to make up for it, Clefairy was notorious for her conflicting yet approachable personality. Most of her possessions quickly passed from herself to others, be they strangers or close friends, though she clung like life itself to the hoodie she constantly wore, giving her the true Clefairy look - ears, fluff, wings and all. She prided herself in her generosity, often putting herself in debt in order to bestow gifts to those around her. She did her best to make friends with even the strangest of strangers, and often attracted a small crowd of 'outcasts' to call her best friends.
  Besides her hoodie, Clefairy wore only the baggiest of clothes; she preferred to wear memorabilia of her favorite band and two-sizes-too-big khakis than anything that "looked good"; she steeply preferred comfort to what was currently "in".
  
  At all times, no matter the circumstances, Clefairy carried with her a Pokeball, inside it an Everstone. This was her prized possession, and if lost or removed from her person, her personality and appearance would change drastically to a sometimes sadistic but most definitely depressed state of being until her Everstone was returned. Under extremely stressful situations, the lack of her Everstone could even lead to a feral mindset, effectively turning her into a snarling maniac with little to no self-restraint, leading her to use her signature Metronome reflex without warning or reason.
